Bella - Crossed the Rainbow Bridge due to a severe bacterial infection

suspected to be from Bestro's Roasted All Natural Chicken Jerky, MADE IN CHINA

Kate, Bella's mommy, was on vacation with Bella who was in perfect health.  She has always spoiled her baby like you would not believe.  Bella has had the best of everything as I have visited them and know this for a fact!  Her vet visits were up to date and she was in perfect health.

She gave Bella some of these Bestro's Chicken Jerky Treats, bought in Wal-Mart.  Bella took ill immediately and they ended their vacation and rushed her to the vet.  She kept throwing up, not eating, etc.  She was hospitalized immediately and they went to work on her, not knowing what was wrong.

Poor Bella ended up passing over the Rainbow Bridge, leaving her family and me devasted!  She was only 2 years old and just had her birthday recently.  An autopsy was performed on Bella and it revealed that she had a severe bacterial infection, either being salmonella or e-coli.

Kate has two other chi's that hadn't eaten the same treat that Bella did and therefore didn't get sick, luckily.  Kate went to Wal-Mart to buy the other chi's their treats that they liked and when she took them to the register, it rang up DO NOT SELL.  Kate asked questions as to why and nobody seemed to know anything.  After searching the internet, she found where they were taken off the shelf by Wal-Mart due to complaints of pets getting sick.

I did some research of my own and on ... http://www.epinions.com/msg/sec_~forums/show_~threads/cat_id_~25/id_~5220/forum_id_~247/pp_~8#posts  ... I see where others are complaining of their pets dying and only after eating these same treats!  My question and Kate's is why on earth are they still on the shelves if they are labeled DO NOT SELL????  I told her to go back to Wal-Mart, take all she can find up to the manager and demand to know why they are on the shelf and make sure they know that she lost her pet and why.

Her vet was then contacted and told of the treat issue and they said it is very likely that this was the reason as to Bella dying.  I also saw on epinions.com that Waggin Trains, MADE IN CHINA, is also in question.  I went through everything that I have and anything MADE IN CHINA is now in the trash!!!

PLEASE DON'T TAKE A CHANCE, ... THROW ANY TREATS AWAY THAT ARE MADE IN CHINA AWAY!   If you remember all the pet food recalls, they had to do with things from CHINA.

ANYONE WISHING TO SEND CONDOLENCES TO KATE'S FAMILY, feel free to send them to me and I will forward them to her!  What a tragedy for any pet to have to suffer from having a treat that will eventually kill them!  Bella, you will be missed!
